Ocean Way Recording is perhaps the most recognized and acclaimed recording facility of all in recent years.  Once known as United Western Recording studios located in the heart of Hollywood, the original facility continues its great tradition now as Ocean Way Recording.  Ocean Way has won the prestigious Mix Magazine award for technical excellence and creativity (TEC award) as the number one studio in the entire recording industry an unprecedented five times.  How is this possible?  Let's look at some of the music that has been produced there.

Bonnie Raitt ("Nick of Time"), Natalie Cole ("Unforgettable") and Whitney Houston ("I Will Always Love You") are three recent "Grammy" winning songs of the year, all of them performance and engineering masterpieces that will surely remain as indelible memories in the minds of music lovers for generations to come.  Adding to the list of music history recorded at Ocean Way are notable albums by the likes of Quincy Jones ("Back on the Block") and Michael Jackson ("Bad", "Dangerous" and "History"), all of which won Grammies for the best engineered record of the year.

Sony Oxford ConsoleIt is no accident that so much of the music recorded at Ocean Way has been so honored by so many millions.  Their rooms are acoustically the best for recording to be found anywhere.  Their management has spared no expense in acquiring the finest stat-of-the-art equipment to meet the needs of their clients for many years running.  Aside from having the largest and most exotic tube microphone collection in the US, here is one example of a "modest" addition to their equipment inventory, the million dollar 72 channel 24-bit Sony Oxford Console (OXF-R3),  which is in Studio "C", one of four great rooms available there.

Studio BOcean Way's attention to detail and the ability to accommodate diverse sessions is a major factor in Ocean Way's 25 years of continued success. Whether it's a 75-piece scoring session (ample parking available), a multi-channel film mix, or a rock tracking date, their staff  takes pride in delivering the same care and precision to insure a "smooth session." Ocean Way provides the service, efficiency and quality conducive to the creation of memorable music.

And speaking of memorable music, Ocean Way's tradition is as rich as the music industry itself.  Aside from the artists we've already mentioned here, other music greats have recorded favorite tracks in the past including: "California Dreamin" by The Mamas and Papas, "It Was a Very Good Year" by Frank Sinatra, "Good Vibrations" by The Beach Boys and "I Can't Stop Loving You" by Ray Charles.  Considering the studio's discography, it is easy to see that Ocean Way has long been regarded as one of the most desirable places to record in the history of the music industry.

The list of available equipment at Ocean Way would take volumes to list here.  But you can click on the image below and you will be linked directly to their website so you can see for yourself.  One thing we will mention though is that their Hollywood facility runs on balanced power from several of our award winning Wall Cabinet Systems.  Ocean Way was one of the first major studios to acquire the improved and newly redesigned Wall Cabinet Systems for their equipment's technical power needs.  The result was greater dynamic range in their recordings than ever before.  So what's left to say?  Ocean Way's rooms are the cleanest to be found anywhere.  It's no mystery why the top recording studios in the world demand only the best balanced power products from Equi=Tech,
