The toroid transformers listed on this page are the product of years of research and testing in the professional audio, video and other technical fields where balanced power has been applied.  There have been numerous refinements and revisions made to these transformers since June of 1993 when Equi=Tech became the first company to offer balanced AC power products.  They are built on years of experience.pioneering in the field of balanced AC power and these are anything but conventional transformers.  They are the most accurately balanced and well designed components of their kind.  All are UL, CE, ETL or CSA approved. 

Sevaral sizes are offered in 2 grades to fit the situation and budget -- "standard" type tranformers and "Q" type transformers.  For most common applications, the "standard" type transformers are more than adequate to meet sensitive equipment needs.  For pulse-current type loads such as amplifiers, pulse radar equipment, and other loads with large current transients, the performance characteristics of "Q" transformers are clearly superior. 

The transformers come mounted in UL listed NEMA enclosures that are approved for all types of electrical installations.  Convenient landing lugs or terminal blocks are provided for a quick and easy hook up by an electrician or do-it-yourselfer.  Ideally they should be wall mounted adjacent to a nearby electrical circuit breaker panel but they may also be fed remotely by a branch circuit with appropriate overcurrent protection.  Equi=Tech's "Transformer in a Box" toroids are easy to install and safe to use in any elecrical wiring system.  For more information about how to properly install these transformers, please refer to Article 647 in the 2005 National Electrical Code.
