Transformer Sale - Special item. Recently we upgraded our 2kVA export models for overseas customers. The new transformer is also very good with any kind of 240V amplifier or board or peripheral used stateside. They are bigger than their domestic counterpart. They can also be used in 120Volt mode (in and out) as long as a 10-amp breaker is protecting it. Optionally, as a transformer that is derated to 1kVA (@120V), they are one extremely fine and smooth piece of equipment. They are much more efficient running amplifiers than any other 1kVA unit - PERIOD. (@ 120V or 240V.) The model number they were originally made to be used in is the 2RQ-E. That's a $5000 piece of gear. Unfortunateily for us, these 2 prototypes were made about ½" too tall to fit in the chassis and they are not potted in resin. That leaves us with only one option which is to use them in a NEMA encllosure and call it a 2BQ-E. We'd just as soon get them out of the shop and refill their spot on the shelf with another one that meets all the dimensional specs. You can take them off our hands for $1179 plain shipped in a box or $1279 shipped ready to install in a NEMA enclosure. That is considerably less than half price. When run at 120V, they can handle any pair of monoblocks as well as any 2kVA system we offer. They are better than the Son of Q. Just dont drive them continuously with over 9 or 10 amps. They do handle high current pulses typically required by large amplifiers just as well as our regular 120V transformers. As a derated 1kVA transformer, that is what is so great about them. Model 30NZ6-150VLB - Neptune Series isolation transformer that was returned to us because of an engineering error in specificaions for a specific jobsite. Model 1R-J - Identical product to Model 1R but with 8% voltage boost. Originally these units were intended for use in Japan and the Caribbean where common AC power is 100 Volts and where North American gear designed for 115-120V is to be used. They are also very useful in areas of the US where the voltage is low. (<110V-115V) They will correct low voltage situations and output a nominal 120V. They are not to be used in North America where the local line voltage is typically in excess of 110V. If this recommendation is not followed, tubes and power supplies will be short lived. However, these "J" units can be very useful where lower supply voltage (100V - 110V) is all that is availble and North American equipment designed for 115-120V power is to be used.
